April sun

Yes, the first few days of April have been sunny and quite summerish. The big news, however, is that I'm not unemployed anymore. I'ts true, I'm on a payroll! I actually work in one of Europe's most advanced laundry services.

No, it's not well payed (about $2.215/month) and it's not glamorous and it's not all fun and play but it's clean and there are a lot of pretty women working there, most of them in their late twenties / early thirties. Another good thing about the place is that it's a good mixture of different nationalities. Some Swedes, some Serbs, some Poles and some other nationalities. Most of them are very nice people.

This coming week I'm on the afternoon shift, which means I start working at 11.30 and get off at 20.00. The morning shift is between 06.00 and 14.30. I would prefer to work only the early shift since I'm going to work all summer, but The Boss (who incidentally happens to be a very good-looking red-head in her late thirties) says no-can-do.

And what do I do at work, you might wonder. Well, most of the time I hang sheets and other bedlinen on to a big machine and from then on everything is quite automatic. The only other manual work is at the other end of the mangle where we stack the bedlinen into assorted containers.

Then there's the terry departement where we fold bathrobes and towels. That's really boring even if everyone can work at their own pace. And some of the girls are really, really fast. I've seen a bathrobe folded in less than two seconds! For me, it takes about six or seven seconds on a good day.

There are some other things I wanted to blog about, concerning my job or rather the circumstances that led up to it, but I have to get the kids ready for bed. Even if they have their Easter holiday next week, it doesn't mean they can be up all night.

If I don't find the time to blog in the nearest future I want to take the opportunity to wish my remaining readers a

HAPPY EASTER!

Yup, I'm still around

I'm not as visible as before but I'm still alive and kickin'. I really, really try to find the time for this blog but... well, I've been unfaithful to my readers, especially the english speaking ones. You might have guessed that this is not the only blog I'm trying to maintain.

No, I just had to have one in my native language too. So, I started one. It was mostly about economics and how I and my family were on the road to get rid of our debts. I tried to keep a light tone and joke about me and everything that happened around me. I wrote anonymously and had a blast. The blog became quite popular and I made a bit of a name for myself. And one day, disaster struck. Some idiot, who probably knew me from some other place on the net, wrote a resume of my blog and gave away my real name, which incidentally is considered as something very rude.

Even though I had had thoughts of making my blog into a business, part of the idea was that I was to remain anonymous, hence I could write more freely. So I first asked the guy to remove my name but he refused. A couple of days later I decided to take down my blog and remove it completely. I received a lot of emails from people who had read the blog and who wanted me to continue but I couldn't. It just wasn't the same anymore.

Instead, I kept the name of the blog and started a complete home page instead of the blog. Well, at first I just used whatever minor skills I had in HTML and coded the page from the ground up. However, my skills just couldn't keep up with my own demands and so I got myself a CMS (Content Management System) by the name of Joomla! and built up my home page anew. And considering I had no experience what so ever in many of the things a CMS needs, I had bitten off a little bit more than I could chew. It's still a handful but I'm managing it quite well nowadays.

And as a bit of leisure for me, I've started a blog in swedish about sex. That oughta be fun...

Anyway, I just wanted you to know I'm still around.

I should be shot!

Well, I should. Really.

I think about this blog almost every day, but I rareley ever take the time to update it. I really want to, but there are so many things going on in my life, I can't find the time. Now, writing stuff can't be that time consuming you might think. Hah!

English isn't my native tongue, remember? It takes a hell of a time to write even small notes.

I just timed this post. It took about 15 minutes to write. Jesus! (just an expression)

However, I will prevail.

Old posts and Corporate financing

Last night I read through many of my old posts and found out that I had several drafts saved but never published. These were on such different topics as sexuality, parenting, immigration and democracy. And there's still that last part of the story of my marriage... Now I,m wondering if my drafts will be published on the day they were first created or if they get published on the current date. I think it's the latter but I'm not sure. Have no fear, I will find out, eventually.

I'm actually thinking of starting a new blog, totally devoted towards sexual issues. Not only is this one of my favorite topics but I also think I have a lot of good things to say about it. On the other hand, I could just as well put those posts on this blog. I think I'll have to think some more about that. Above all I should start using those labels so that people can find interesting posts faster.

A totally different matter is my education. As many of you might know I'm making up for not continuing school after those nine years of compulsary school and at this point in time I'm learning about Corporate financing. Fascinating stuff! The only drawback is that there's a lot of math. I'm not good at math, even if I do understand the basics.

My plan was to start at the university in Lund this fall, but unfortunately a mistake on my part made my application non-valid. So, instead of being unemployed, I chose to take on a course in Corporate financing. The new plan was to apply to the university next spring. However, this course was so fun and interesting I've decided to postpone higher education to the fall of 2008.

And now I'll have to do my home work. See ya' around!

Santa's here!

Well, almost. But I'm here and thats what counts isn't it?

I've had a few days of meetings with my oldest son's teachers. I'm pretty pissed and tired. Partly pissed by my son's inability to understand that he's playing around with his own future, but mostly pissed by the school's inability to motivate him. LazyWorm is very intelligent but, as you understand by the alias I gave him, he's also tremendously lazy. I mean really, really lazy.

Next summer, in June, the nine years of compulsary school is over. It's time to move up a level. He wants to learn how to be a auto-mechanic. That's a nice profession that pays rather well. I don't have a problem with that, although he, in my opinion, is better suited as some kind of construction worker, maybe a carpenter. However, it's his choice.

The problem is that he doesn't have the grades for any higher education AT ALL! The school tells me this NOW. It's not that he skips school or behaves badly, it's just that he finds school boring and daydreams all day long. It's probably to late for him to clean up his act but he has surely made an effort these past two weeks. There's still hope but it's very, very slim.

And this morning I just got fed up with everything. I left LittleAngel at daycare, went home and accompanied CartoonBoy to his schoolbus, went home again and discovered that LazyWorm still wasn't ready for school. I just told him to hurry up. After he left I just sat down at the kitchen table and tried to motivate myself to go to school.
I couldn't.

Instead I brewed a big pot of coffee, called in sick, watched TV for an hour and then sat down to do my homework.

Everything is however not bad. RedHead got a part-time job as a cleaning lady at the town hall. Halleluja! Finally I got her out of the house. And she lost more than 20 kilo's (44 lb) which has had a great impact on her stamina and temper. She's still overweight but well on her way to look more like her age. (People actually asked her who that "toyboy", eg. Yours truly, was and how she, at her age, could let herself get pregnant with such a young man...) Something like that might be good for my ego, but it was devastating for RedHeads. And finally, she listened to me and the kids as we pleaded her to stop gaining weight. The overweight itself wasn't so bad but she had gained 2-4 lbs every month since LittleAngels birth. Now she's on the right track. I don't want her sized down to model size, I just want her to be mobile again.

Ah, and the weight loss has also made her a bit more prone to have sex. That's nice.

Yes, I've re-modeled the blog. I was getting tired with the old design. All links and stuff will be put back eventually. Now I have to leave you. See ya' around

Five minutes or so...

Hi everyone!

I've decided to take a small break from my studies. It's not healthy to bury one's head into books ALL the time, is it?

We've had a couple of days of really nice weather here but that ended this morning as we got up and out of bed. Heavy rain, that luckily took a small brake as CartoonBoy went out to his school bus. And as my wife went to day care with our youngest the faucets opened up again. RedHead looked like a drowned cat when she returned.

Last Sunday I helped a couple of friends to move their stuff into their new house. Although I envy those who can afford to buy a house, I realized that my friends might have taken on a bit more than they can chew. The house was cheap, by southern Sweden standards, and believe me, it looked cheap too. It was probably built some time around the 1910's and never got a real overhaul.

Sure, there was a pretty nice interior but the exterior looked like it came from some horror story. The garden hadn't been done for the last ten years and all the small sheds ( five of them!) looked like they were to crumble in the next storm. Well, they're both pretty good with tools and stuff, so I might just envy them because of they actually might pull it off.

Sorry, I have to leave you. Maybe next week as I have a couple of days off then. See ya!

Hi Everyone!

I know, I know... I've been very invisible since early spring. I promise that will change but not right now. I've got tons of things to do and can hardly find time to take a deep breath. A small update however:

  • I'm still at school, studying corporate finances.
  • I'm still married.
  • I've had several crushes on various women.
  • I'll continue studying next spring.
  • Next fall, I'm hopefully going to study something related to programming.
  • I'm typing this nekkid.
  • That was just a joke. I'm actually wearing briefs.
  • My VW still works.
  • I'm nagging my wife about not having a budget.
  • I'm poorer than a rat in an abandoned church.
Sorry, no more time, but loads of thanks to all who made comments and/or sent me e-mails demanding my return. :)
